Letter from Recruitment Chair

Hi everyone! My name is Jessie McCann, and I am the Vice President of Membership for Delta Gamma at Oregon State University.

Formal recruitment may be a few months away, but I am beyond excited to share the same traits and values of the Beta Upsilon chapter that resonated with me as I went through recruitment two years ago with other women going through recruitment today. My life as a Delta Gamma woman was changed for the better when I walked through the front doors of what was once called the “Beach House.” Within the walls of my chapter home, I have found meaningful connections, foundational relationships, opportunities for personal growth, and a passion to do good.

I have learned through my time as a member that one of the most important things that Delta Gamma asks of you is to be truly authentic and real to yourself and those around you. There is no one quite as unique and special as the person that you are, and my biggest piece of advice to women going through recruitment is to find that special place of genuine people that allows you to be real. You will sense the chapter that you will call home when you are able to have those authentic conversations; don’t shy away from showing your true colors. I chose the Beta Upsilon chapter based on the light-hearted, original, and meaningful conversations that I had with members of Delta Gamma. Since my initiation, I have only met people that have made my life more significant. Even when life has thrown me curve balls, and believe me when I say that as a junior in college, my generation has been given some serious uphill battles, my sisters have been my rock, encouraging and supporting me to forge ahead. I am grateful every day that I have found these very special people within my home at Delta Gamma.

I hope that you will explore this website and learn about the values that make up Delta Gamma because they might just resonate with you too. And if you know a young woman that embodies the values of Delta Gamma that you would like to recommend or if you are interested in learning more about our chapter, please contact me at deltagammarecruitment1873@gmail.com. Thank you all, I can’t wait to meet you!

Cheers,

Jessie
